Momo Love Ratings Hit Rock Bottom 11/5/09

It has been a month since the debut of Momo Love, which is a drama produced by GTV, aired on CTV, and the drama is now last place in ratings, competing against the other idol dramas: Autumn’s Concerto and Hi, My Sweetheart. Momo Love, starring Cyndi Wang and Jiro Wang, is adapted from the Japanese manga, Momoka Typhoon. Although Momo Love contains a strong cast, which includes Ken Chu of F4, Ding Chun Cheng, Godfrey Gao, Lan Jun Tian, and Jing Wong, the ratings have not been up to expectations.



GTV is still trying to identify the reason to such low results. Netizens of the popular PTT forum, on the other hand, harshly criticize that the drama lacks content and an interesting plot. In addition, some stated, “Ken Chu’s face is too big. It doesn’t look good on screen,” and, “None of Jiro’s dramas have ever done well. He clearly can’t bring in the ratings.”

The audience has shown more interest in the comedic quartet (Ding Chun Cheng, Godfrey Gao, Lan Jun Tian, and Jing Wong) than the main couple of Cyndi and Jiro. Thus, rumors have risen that Cyndi and Jiro’s relationship have turned sour due to the criticisms and rating. Some staff members of the drama also reported that Cyndi and Jiro’s interactions were awkward during the filming. Cyndi’s manager, Zhang Jia Rong, declined such claims and stated that Cyndi’s relationship with a co-star wouldn’t turn sour just because of a bad series. Zhang further expressed confidence in Cyndi by stating that her acting and popularity have long been proven in “La robe de Mariee des cieux” and “Smiling Pasta.” However, Cyndi was in tears in front of the media recently due to the pressure that is put on her. Cyndi expressed that she has been having trouble sleeping because of this.



Understandably, if the drama is well received, the cast can choose to do less promotional activities or even none at all. However, since this is not the case, many showed dissatisfaction toward Ken Chu as he still has not attended any press conference for Momo Love since the very first when the crew announced the start of the filming.

This makes me super sad. I feel bad for Jiro being criticized like that. I don't think it's his fault with bad ratings. Jaiyoh! I still haven't seen this drama!

Lol actually I was watching it. I thought it was pretty funny, a little long winded and stupid but still okay to watch. People are just dumb lol.

I just got to reading this news and am shocked.
You know Jiro's acting is GOOD. He's full of expression. He can do a comic role and yet do a serious one as well. Not everyone can do that!

And now i know why my poor dadong is sad. ):

It's just that the plot of the dramas he's in isn't that deep and so it gets less ratings. I don't have a problem with his acting at all.

I'M VERY VERY JEALOUS with Cindy Wang here.. When they were in hospitaL,,Shi Lang hug Tao Hua from back when Shi Lang get hurt bcoz of gunshoot,,and Tao Hua being sad n mad bcoz Shi Lang hurt when save her.. in this scene,,Jiro Looks very very good to act Shi Lang,,Like that he is reaLLy Shi Lang with a deepest Love to Tao Hua..and when he kiss Tao Hua here,,, huaaah.. i reaLLy wanna get his kiss too..reaLLy..

and u know,,i was cried when see this Last eps..when Shi Lang and Tao Hua hear that they are sibLings... when they and in the schooL roof,,Shi Lang hug Tao Hua from back..in one side,,i'm feeL sad with this scene,,but in the other side,,i reaLLy feeL jeaLous!!! reaLLy..!! hahaha.. (i mean,,i wish Da Dong can hug me from back with a deepest Love Like when Shi Lang hug Tao Hua..haha)

and i was cried too when they are promise to get married before they know that they not sibLings..
"Tao Hua,, jia gei wo ba.." Shi lang said with his deepLy feeLing.. huaaaah.. Da Dong reaLLy act very good here..Like that he is reaLLy Shi Lang and Cindy Wang reaLLy Tao Hua.. i was cried in this scene... a very sad scene with a great church background.. huah...
(and after this scene,,they go to meet the nurse in the hospiTaL and get known that they aren't sibLings..in this scene,,i get jeaLous too when they come out from the nurse room,,and Shi Lang kiss Tao Hua in front of nurse's room..huaaa!! i want to get his kiss too.. haha)..

Haha i finished as well. I think they cut a few episodes off the series because of the low ratings. It only had 13 eps. The ending was a little odd. All those kids and only Tao Hua has a baby girl.
